How old where you when you found out that Santa had some help from your parents? How did you find out?

 

I was, hmm, 9 (is that old?), which puts me in 3rd grade. A bunch of classmates who thought they were so cool were talking about how Santa was allegedly not real (I say allegedly because I felt they were wrong).  I couldn?t imagine Santa not being real. I asked my dad about it when he got home from work & he told me the truth. And I cried. At the time I had 3 younger siblings and I remember he told me not to tell my siblings because he & my mom thought they should believe in Santa a little while longer. Then I got to help my mom wrap a few small gifts since I was now so mature & it made me feel a little special, lol.

    I don't remember how old I was, but I started noticing that Santa and my dad had the same handwriting.  Which is funny in and of itself, because I have no idea why my dad was writing out gift tags instead of my mom.  Needless to say, Santa will be using the computer for gift tags in our house!

    My grandfather (paternal) used to call on Christmas Eve as Santa :) I loved it, I hope my dad or MH?s dad can do the same for our LO.

     

    My dad used to dress as Santa for my oldest nephew and a few of the other kids on our block. Then one year my nephew asked his mom why Pop and Santa had the same shoes. MH (was my boyfriend then) took over Santa duty after that, lol.

    I think I was in first grade, so 6 or so. The funny thing is that I am the youngest and Santa continues to come every year for everyone, including my mom (we all contribute). There is always some confusion Christmas morning though because invariably my sister ends up with something Santa intended for me because of the champagne we have on Christmas Eve! Nothing like three drunk santas stuffing stockings!

    I was 7 and caught my parents setting up a doll house they tried to pass off as from Santa.

    I think I was around 9 too and it was my classmates as well.  Quite frankly, I was willing to swallow any line to keep believing.  It was pretty fun while I believed.

    My sister found out when she was 9. which means she told me when I was 7, big mouth that she is. My youngest sister found out when she was 6, but told mom she still believed so we all could get more presents.  My mom told my nephew when he was 9, nice, huh?

    I was in fifth grade. My teacher told us a story about being Santa for his kids. Most of my friends knew the truth and tried to tell me, but I refused to believe them. Whenever I asked my mom, prior to that, she would say, "if you believe he is real, then it is true". Until I was forced not to I chose to believe. My sister had a similiar experience, but she was in seventh grade. None of us knows when my brother figured it out. My mom was really convincing, and good at hiding presents.

    I was in 4th grade and it was my classmates that told me.  My parents made me promise not to tell my younger sisters.  My sisters believed until about the same age.  We have been talking about it alot because my nephew is in 4th grade this year and we are wondering if he will stop believing soon but want to make sure his younger brother and sister continue to believe.  It is more fun when kids believe.

    On another note, Santa Claus never wrapped our presents so we never got to compare handwriting on gift tags.  Also, we never got presents from my parents, just Santa.  I haven't given DD a present from us (just Santa) but have been reconsidering this decision since now that I think back on it it was a little weird that we didn't get a present from our parents.
