FInally got a percription from kaiser yesterday for my GD. My numbers are still not in range and they are waiting a few more days to see if they want to make ajustments at this point. I am super dissapointed at how long it too them to get this far and think they are still stalling/ being super carful due to I have no idea why. Best I canfigure I it inbetween their screening dates which made them not want to test me. I guess I am not a typical GD patient because I got it at a unusual time durring the pg. Makes me wondr if it goes undiganosed often because of all of this. Is it normal to have to get very unhappy and complain a lot for Kaiser to move forward with things? If so I can't wait to change insurence.
As far as DH's job he is waiting to find out on Friday if they will keep him on full time regular. At this point worst case will be to drop him back to being a contractor. If that happens we will be job hunting and moveing for a better job. But it is nice to know we will have an income and with cobra will have helth coverage in the meantime.
Oh and MIL will be comming home on Sunday. She is super excited to be home just in time for thanksgiving. I have missed her a ton! SHe still is not completely healed but I am so happy she is comming home.
Re: Update on Kaiser, MIL, and DH's Job
Sorry you're having such a crappy time with Kaiser and the GD experience. I've never had Kaiser but I've sure heard some horror stories about them. When you talk about when you were diagnosed, if you don't mind the question, where you diagnosed unusually early or late?
***finger crossed*** that they are smart enough to keep your DH as a full employee. I know it may not feel like much but I am glad to hear that at least he'll be able to work as a contract employee while you guys search. DH's company just (as in today) got purchased and while they are telling everyone that nothing is changing I'll believe that when it happens and I am petrified about the possibility of him losing his job.
Woot woot! So happy to hear that MIL is coming home, yay! How wonderful that you will be able to have everyone together for Thanksgiving and not be sad and worry about splitting time between home and the rehab hospital. Super happy that she is in a better place and healthy and strong enough to come home.
My doctor tests for GD early in the second pregnancy b/c it's likely you'll have it again. I'm sorry you are having so much trouble with K-insurance.
But once again, it reminds me that I want nothing to do with it. I like my ppo and going to see who I want when I want
Fingers crossed for good news with your husbands job!
Super YAY for MIL coming
In my exsperence with Kaiser yes the squeeky wheel gets what it needs and everyone else doesn't.
I have my fingers crossed for you that Friday brings you good news! If it is bad news and that he goes back to contract, then at least you keep insurance through cobra and he is getting a pay check while he looks. I know it doesn't sound all that apealling but the fact that he would have time to look is huge IMHO. Thinking of you.
