You know, a dish that you either swore you wouldn't like or just didn't like it at the time and now you do?
I have hated greens beans for 33 years. Therefore, I hated green bean casserole (plus, it had/has mushrooms. Blech). Sometime over the summer I strangely wanted some green beans (I'm fixed, so no pg cravings there, lol) and as it turns out, they're not bad. I don't care for them lukewarm or cold, but they're my vegetable of choice now. So.....I made some green bean casserole the other day as it's usually my dish to bring for Thanksgiving (I made it once by request, they loved it). I removed the huge pieces of mushrooms from the soup though, weird, I know. It's a texture thing and DH is the same way.
I like green bean casserole.
Never thought that would happen!
Re: Do you have a "Green Eggs and Ham"?

I've always hated Brussels sprouts. Even as an exchange student in France, where I tried all sorts of new foods, and found almost everything yummy, Brussels sprouts still disgusted me. So I gave up on them for years and years.
Lo and behold, a month ago I tried some as part of a soul food dish and didn't hate them. They were actually pretty good! Southerners have figured out how to make anything tasty.
