I went into the hospital friday november 4th for my scheduled induction. Was an easy first 2 nights trying to soften my cervix. Sunday morning they broke my water and it was instant bad cramps. I had pain meds put into my IV to help through contractions since I wasnt ready for an epidoral yet. I tried sleeping through the contractions until they were coming every 5 seconds it felt like. They hadnt checked me at all in the 3 hours since they broke my water. I still thought I was 2 cm. I finally asked for an epidoral, they got everyone out except for DH. They were setting up, I am laying on the bed with just DH standing beside me and I felt the need to push. I just remember apologizing that I am pushing, I still thought it was too soon and I wasnt that dialated. No, they didnt check me before deciding to give me the epidoral...After I had said I am pushing the nurse checked me and said her head was right there. No one was prepared at all. They had to rush to get the nurses, midwife, and nicu doctor in. DH had to help clear off the tables. I pushed 2 more times and she was out. It was so fast and so wonderful. She did great scoring a 9 out of 10. She was born November 6th at 2:30 pm 5 lbs and 10 oz and 18 inches. They had expected her to be in the nicu but she was with me the remainder of my stay is home with me now
