We took Dyl to White Marsh Mall for pictures with Santa last year. We live close to there, it's where I always went as a kid, blah blah blah. Last year, DH & I even talked to the Santa for a few minutes, we didn't feel rushed or anything, it was really nice. Well, one of my SIL's is constantly bugging me about the Santa at Kenilworth Mall. One of her kids still believes in Santa too so she keeps saying "The REAL Santa is at Kenilworth." and "You have to go to Kenilworth or it doesn't count" etc. It's getting kind of annoying.
Anyway, has anyone been to both malls for Santa pics & can you tell me which one you preferred?
Re: Kenilworth vs White Marsh Mall Santas?
Your SIL needs to shut it and let you make your own traditions!
Last year DD was only 9 months old so we just took her to one of those Breakfast with Santa things. It was low key and perfect for us. Santa came and visited our table then sat down and held DD while DH and all the grandparents took a million pictures. We liked it so much we are doing it again this year.
If you are interested we went to The Stil, it is the Irish pub in Timonium. They do Brunch with Santa every Sunday on December. The price last year was $16.95 per person, kids under 2 are free. If you are feeling frisky all you can drink Bloody Mary's are $5.
We're doing this too and I can't wait! Maybe we'll see you there
Someone's getting a little brother!
That would be awesome!
Last year we went the first weekend it was offered and made a reservation for 11 am right when they opened. It was only us and one other family for at least the first half hour. By the time we were leaving they were starting to get busier.
At the omlete station they will make scrambled eggs for the kiddos, so just ask if that is something B likes to eat.
Someone's getting a little brother!
As a side note, I heard White Marsh is not going to let you take your own pictures this year which makes me really mad--the cost of their pictures is ridiculous.
Oh maybe we will do the Stil this year. I'm sure I can find something to eat for $16.95. LOL!
I work right next to there! I'll mention it to DH & see if he's interested. & no Bloody Mary's for me, think the OB would frown on that ^_^
Whoops! But, you could have a Virgin Mary... It is a bar and you make your own. I am not a fan of tomato juice, but it looks yummy!
Being an Irish place they have nice teas too.
I haven't been to the White Marsh Santa in probably 5 years, when I met my sister there to take my nieces.
We take Emily to see Santa at Kenilworth. He's not there until after Thanksgiving but there is never a line there. I remember standing in line at White Marsh. The Santa 2 years ago looked very authentic but he was actually at Arundal Mills last year. (I'm slightly scared of myself for knowing that.) The Santa at Kenilworth last year didn't stand out as anything special to me. But because there wasn't a line, they were very patient with Emily who wasn't too sure about the whole Santa thing.
We may have to head to the Stil though, breakfast with Santa and booze too sounds great.
Last year they would not let me take pictures. And I wasn't paying for a picture of A where she wasn't smiling or even looking at the camera.
My friend just emailed me and told me their CHEAPEST package is $35. What a scam. We are going to find another santa.
We are doing Kenilworth but mostly because its closer to home and we are going on a Friday afternoon in hopes it won't be crowded. They also have the train garden set up there which is a nice touch.
Too bad DH works weekends or The Still would be fun. Oh well, maybe next year
