Reading to babies in utero

I see on another post that 2brides' wife read to the twins when they were in utero. I think that's a great idea. 2brides, what did she read to them? Kid books? Whatever she was reading? Something you would both enjoy? Did anyone else do this, & if so, what did you read to them? And did anyone play music for them?

    DW is not preggo yet but I talk to her follies almost daily telling them to grow and for her eggs to be friendly.  I imagine I am going to read like crazy once there is a baby in there.  I collect books and have a stack of books from when I was a child and they are on the bookshelf waiting patiently.

    We had three BFN in the Fall of 2011. It is back on to some baby making come June. Swim little fellas, SWIM!!!!

    I read occasionally to the Kiddos in-utero ...mostly Bible stories (don't faint True) and Guess How Much I Love You. I mostly sang to them. I don't really have a singing voice, but I like to sing nonetheless. I also like to make up songs. I am smiling just remembering singing to C's belly. My favorite one was the Four Tops, "You're Just to Good to be True." Whenever C would get worried that a baby wasn't moving enough, I would sing that song and poke her belly till the baby moved. When they were first born, Peanut would scrunch up her face whenever I'd sing that song... guess she didn't like the poking, lol! Reading and singing to the Kiddos made me feel as if C and I were on this journey as one...as if I was carrying the babies also, if you will. It just brought me closer. (Thankfully, Peanut no longer scrunches her face when I sing that song...now she just says, "No...no...no...no." *Smile*)

    I read all kinds of stuff pertinent and not babystuff and not... Played lots of music LOTS OF MUSIC Heavy metal classical ... surprisingly they Loved Benny and the Jetts by elton John and even after they were born they would go nuts when this song was on ... They also love a few songs from rent we played them our wedding songs that we had at our wedding ....
