DD usually takes 3 naps, about 2-3 hours each, with 45 minutes to an hour of awake time in between. She'll have a longer awake time after her third nap before bedtime.
The past couple of days, its down to two naps, same length. I just can't get her to take her third nap so she is up way too long before bedtime. I tried moving her bedtime earlier a bit to accommodate, but that didn't work at all.
She didn't seem overtired, more like upset that I was putting her to bed early and was wide awake. By the time I finally got her to sleep, it was her normal bedtime anyways.
How many naps does your LO take during the day, and for how long? Is it still sleep begets sleep at 6 weeks?
Re: How many naps and for how long?
That upset, wide-eyed bit is overtired. But if you wee able to get her down without issue, it isn't as big of a deal. It took us 1.5 hours to get our overtired DD down last night
We don't have a nap schedule yet...just max awake times we follow.
We really have no nap schedule at this point...each day is a bit different. When she does nap during the day, the naps are anywhere between 30 mins and 2 1/2 hours.
But to answer your other question, yes, sleep begets sleep...at pretty much any age IMO.
I did not know there was such thing. My 6 1/2 week old has been really fussy in the evenings the last week or so.
I also have a hard time getting her to nap during the day. Some days she sleeps forever and I have to wake her up from her naps, but most days she only naps 1/2 hour here and there even though she is clearly tired. Thankfully she is still giving me a 5 or 6 hour stretch at night though.
