I am starting to feel a little discouraged. I did start at 0.5 oz total and now at 2oz, but I know of people producing 2oz per breast around or before 6wks. I am mostly nursing (supplement formula once or twice a day) my baby and pump once when he takes his nap from 2-4:30pm. Sometimes I get 2oz and maximum 2.5oz. Is there any hope that my supply will still increase? I started taking fenugreek pills and I drink a lot of water. TIA

Re: 6-wks and only pumping 2oz total in one session
I am 7 weeks pp and I only pump 2.5-3 total per session. LO might be getting more than that though. I weighed LO before feeding and after and she had sucked out 5oz.
I have a low supply, but my girl gains like crazy. I am super jealous of these ladies that can pump out 30 ounces in a day, not me though, I can barely get by. But getting by is what matters. I am finally EBF all day, then pumping once for a freezer stash (measly 3oz, but whatev)
my read shelf:
I totally understand. I'm in the same boat. Sometimes I'm lucky to get 1 ounce. But you're totally normal. It didn't help my stress level as I was trying to build a stash (and honestly just had to start supplementing cause the pumping output just isn't enough for the time I'm at work and he's at daycare), but "Most moms who are nursing full-time are able to pump around 1/2 to 2 ounces total (for both breasts) per pumping session."

just keep at it!
I am starting to eat oatmeal as well.

That actually sounds normal to me. I went back to work at 6 wks. w/both kids. While on mat leave, your pumping output is about what mine was: there just isn't much time between feedings, unlike when I pump at work....that's when I could get 20-28 oz. a day on occasion. But not at home, between feedings.
If you're trying to build a stash, you might try adding in a pumping session first thing in the AM, or if that's not possible, before you go to bed. Just keep getting baby to the breast as much as you can (will help supply as well) and don't get discouraged: as long as he's gaining well and you and baby are happy, that's what matters most.
It will come around. I was pumping about that at that time and it increased as LO started to eat more.
Be careful of supplementing-just make sure you pump if you give a bottle so your body gets the message that baby is still hungry. If you aren't pumping when you give formula, your body doesn't know that LO requires more food and will regulate itself to what it is currently producing.
Make sure you eat enough, too! BFing requires about 500 extra calories each day! Life Cereal, Oatmeal and Nature Valley Granola Bars seemed to help me.
