What do you do with your LO when you grocery shop?

I need to do some grocery shopping and have no idea where to put DD. I have been using my snugrider, but that is only when I go to pick up a few things. Where do you put your LO when you grocery shop... If you use the cart, how do you put them in it?

My husband does most of the grocery shopping. But when I do go I put him in the sling. I have a Slingling and a Seven Sling. I like them both and so does he (which is most important)! He always goes right to sleep and most people barely notice him!

Depending how big of a shopping I'm doing I either a)put her car seat in the cart (the actual basket part - not in the seat) or b) wear her in the Ergo.

We've only been twice so far and the first time I put her in the cart and only grabbed a few things. The second time DH came with us and pushed her in her stroller. I can't seem to be away from her for more than a few minutes and sending my DH grocery shopping would be a nightmare!

I had to go to the grocery store with LO and I put the snugrider in the cart (back part...They say do not put the carrier on the front seat of the grocery cart because it can flip over) Well I had no room for the groceries. LOL

The 2nd time I left LO with my husband. Third time I ordered groceries online at my local grocery store and it was the easiest! I don't send my DH to do the shopping even though he has offered because he gets lost in the aisles and not sure where to find certain items. I will send him for the basics in a pinch though.

He rides in my Moby. Sunday I literally fed him while he was in the Moby with one hand and pushed the grocery cart/shopped with the other. You get good at it.

If I have both kids by myself I wear baby and put my 2.5YO in the seat part. If I only have baby and it's a super quick trip I sometimes put the car seat in the basket part.

If I'm doing a big grocery shop, I usually wear DD in the Moby. It works really well and she typically falls asleep. If I'm just getting a few things, I put her car seat in the basket part of the cart.

Same here. Carseat on top of the cart if it will fit there. I know our local Target has weird carts that the seat won't fit onto, in that case I put her in the basket or wear her if I have more shopping to do.

I havent taken her out yet, but when I do, I will most likely wear her in her sling, or put her in the seat part. My car seat locks onto the bars, and if they dont lock on, she rides in the basket.

If everyone goes, and its a big trip, I will push her in a cart, and my fiance will push our son in another.

DH and I both go shopping, so LO is in her carseat. Usually we'll use the stroller, but we also will take a second cart and put her carseat in the basket. It is not safe to put a carseat up in the seat part of a cart. When I've gone alone I put LO in the Ergo.

I was putting him on top of the cart, until it was reported that a baby died that way. Now I put his carseat in the big part of the cart, which definitely does not leave a lot of room for groceries! I have every Wednesday off of work, so I just try to make small shopping trips each week. I load up the shelf on the bottom of the cart and stack smaller things around the carseat in the cart. This weekend, though, we need to make a bigger trip, so I'll make DH go with me and push another cart.

I take both girls to do 99% of my grocery shopping. DD1 is in the seat of the cart and DD2 is in her car seat in the basket. I grab one of the hand-held baskets that most stores have and stick it on the bottom of the cart. Little things go in that basket and big things get packed around it. Not ideal, but DD2 hates being worn so far, so I make it work. One time I got lucky enough that DH was with us, and that time we had one cart full of kids and one cart full of groceries and diapers.

I guess in my mind the carts that it clips too and fits in I'm ok with it. He is always buckled in tight just as if he was in the car itself. If my DH is with me then we use the stroller or he carries him. I honestly think its more dangerous for the sitting baby or child in the seat, they tend to lean over or grab at things that would cause them to fall out or turn it over. I can't see him being injured while strapped into his seat. If they would make the seat part in all carts for the carriers to clip to, as how it clips to the stroller, then it would be much safer for the infant.

I wear DD in our Beco Butterfly II while shopping. I'm amazed at all the people who are perfectly ok with placing car seats on top of shopping carts, despite the obvious hazards and repeated warnings that it isn't safe. The risk or injury or death is not worth the apparent convenience.

Depending on if I'm by myself or with DH one of us wears the baby in either the Babyhawk or the Pikkolo.

I would never put the carseat in the top part of the cart. We watched one almost tip over last time we went to BabiesRUs and there was an uneven part of floor. And because the seat was "latched on" it took both the mom and her friend to grab the cart and try to right it it because it was top heavy.

How dense can some people be? Carseats are NOT MEANT to be placed on the top section of a shopping cart. For fvcks sake, even if there's a .05% chance something bad could happen, that's not worth the risk. Honestly.

This. My baby's carseat also fits in the oven - doesn't mean I should put it there.
