is it okay to feed the baby while they are in carseat?

I am FF so I can easily feed the baby while she is still strapped in.  but is there any dangers to that? Obviously, I would never undo her straps.  I only give her a bit to calm her down so gas shouldnt be a problem (if it was, we would pull over) Also, my baby practically burps herself.

I am also in a seatbelt.

  • i would not, you can't get them out very fast if they choke and what if whoever is driving can't pull over?

if it is to calm her down can you try a pacifier?

  • I did during a 10-15 min car ride to my MIL's. It was fine..I burpped her right when we stopped the car. I wouldn't do it if you're driving far but that's up to you.

  • I'll probably get flamed but if you're in the backseat so you can watch baby (I'm assuming you're not trying to prop up a bottle and then sit in the front seat--as that would seem blantantly obvious as a dumb thing to do this little) I can't say I see a huge problem with it...if you're considering doing it maybe try a trial run in their carseat while you are sitting in the livingroom first and see how it goes? (DD wont eat at certain angles so I could see this being the case if we tried a carseat feed...)

  • Prop feedings can be dangerous to your baby. Have you looked into the Podee? (https://www.podee.com/)They sell them at Babys R US or you can get them online. It works great when you are driving and LO gets hungry. You can buy the feeding kit that fits on any standard bottle for about $8 or buy the  2 packPodee bottle that has the 2 kits for 16.99.
