I just posted something else, forgive me, I just have questions about so much!
My daughter will be 22 months when Baby #2 arrives. I have a BOB jogger single now and use it religiously. I go for walks with my daughter and we loved having it at the beach. We're big beach go'ers and have enjoyed having a stroller that can handle all sorts of terrain.
For those of you that already have 2u2, do you think a double is needed? I don't know if I should get something big and wide like the BOB double, or get something slim and narrow like the City Select. My other option is to get a sit and stand, where Baby #2 is in the stroller but my daughter can get on and off the stroller on her own.
Do you think I'll use a double stroller or do most kids really prefer to walk once they turn 2ish? I'm just thinking of trips to the zoo or airports where it might be nice to cruise right along.
Any suggestions?
Re: Do I need a double stroller?
Right now my two are 7 months and 21 months and ds1 doesn't walk 24/7 whereever we go and if he's drinking or snackign does prefer to sit. So definitely depends upon the kids; but if you are out with two you do have a lot of cr*p with you and can you fit it all ok into a single.
I've got the city select and love, love love it!

I have a double bob and a city select. I really only use the city select if I only have DS2 or I'm taking both to the doctor's office. Everything else we use the double bob. For your life style I would think you'd want the double bob esp since you are already use to it.
With that my son will 2.5 next month and he has started walking more like at disney last month and at the zoo. But he gets tired or if wants a snack he likes to sit in the stroller. He fits way better in the bob b/c he can stretch his long legs out. He doesn't fit in the city select very well anymore.
Agree with this. I had a Select and just sold it in favor of a P&T which is way more maneuverable. I live in a big city and use my stroller every day. The P&T isn't the most convenient with one kid sitting behind the other, but for getting around, it's the closest thing to a single stroller, and the big air tires will go anywhere.

I highly recommend purchasing a double stroller. It has been so, so convenient. I have 3 little ones now, and my two older kiddos can walk, but most of the time my nearly 2 1/2 year old would prefer to ride in the stroller. If both older kiddos want to ride in the stroller, I can wear the baby in the Beco. If only the baby is riding in the stroller, I have lots of room for any extra cargo, i.e. the diaper bag. I can even get a folded lawn chair to fit upright in the bottom compartment of the stroller, along with whatever else we need to take along. Totally worth getting, imo.
I think it depends. Do you SAH and plan on taking the kids out a lot alone? Will you want to wear your youngest everywhere so you can push your oldest in the single? I think if you baby wear through the first year, a double will not be necessary. It is convenient to have, though. In the first 5-6 months, I just wore the baby everywhere and didnt use the double much. Then summer hit and I used the double stroller a ton since it was a PITA to wear the baby when we were out in the heat. We have a zoo pass and go a ton, and my son likes to walk around, but also loves to sit next to his sister and get a ride in the double too.
If you work full time and only take the kids out on the weekends, you'll probably be fine with a single. Your oldest can always go on dad's shoulders or in a radio flyer wagon or something.
