Am I the only one who doesn't give DC gifts from me?

Granted, he is only 3 so this is his 4th Christmas and probably the first one he totally gets the whole thing, but I always make everything from Santa and plan to keep it that way. Growing up, my parents did the same thing. I don't remember if I ever questioned why mom and dad didn't get me anything but other people (grandma, aunts, etc.) did.

    As you can tell from my question, we basically don't.  Everything is just under the tree and "gifts".  If something's from grandma, I try to tell them that, but I don't think they absorb it.

    I think that as they get older and want to give gifts themselves and stop believing in Santa, that things will change.

    I do the same as you and now that I see where you are from (I'm from Eastern PA) I wonder if it is a regional thing? We always thought everything was from Santa until he was outed when we were older, and I do the same with DD.

    I'm in Upstate NY and I grew up this way too. Everything under the tree is from Santa. My Mom comes Xmas morning with my brother (and my Dad if he's not working) and then she gives the kids their presents from them. I never questioned it growing up (and once it was outed I knew they were from my parents under the tree- my  brother is 8 years younger than me so we kept the magic alive for him) so I'm planning on doing it this way for my 3.

    I was just thinking about this the other night. If everything is from Santa how would you explain if you bought something for some type of Sub for Santa program? I keep waiting for DD to ask why we buy stuff for other kids when Santa should bring it.

    I wonder if its a regional thing too, i grew up/live in Eastern PA. But thats how we do it for M, everything under the tree is from Santa. M has not asked why we buy presents for other children, I don't know what I will say if she asks.

    I buy one gift that is from me alone, last year was a jewlery box, this year I got her a little bracelet.  Everything else comes from santa. I like one special gift from me.

    Growing up my parents just said it was all from Santa.  When I did start to question that, they just said they paid Santa.  Whatever, at that point the gig was pretty much up :)  They also did not really wrap anything (just placed it around the room), so it's not like it was labeled with anything at all.
