How are you measuring LO's first word?  Is it going to be the first dada or mama said?  The first time they say a word (like dog) even out of context?  Or will it be when they use the word in context (like saying dog while looking at a dog)?

    I guess it will be the first mama or dada, or whatever may come first, used in context.  I hadnt gave it much thought, since she seems pretty far from that.  I bet it will be super cute to hear her voice though.

    We went with the first word she used in context so her words that she knows are momma, dada, and bye bye. Those are the only words she says in context. She has said dog and other words but we arent counting those yet.

    I was considering it as the first mama/dada. But I will look at the first word in text as a special word too.
