My aunt offered to make me a quilt as a present and I picked it up this weekend. We had picked out the fabrics before and talked about design, but it still floored me. I love it!!
Overall view (it's crooked because of how I hung it, not how it's made):

And I don't know if anyone remembers my post about buying that small side table. I decided to do it and I love it! Things will probably still be moved around a little, but here's a little corner of the nursery ![]()
Re: AW: The quilt my aunt made
Looks great! My aunt is making us one too, but just burned her hand badly at work and now I have to wait, boooooo! I don't even get to see a sneak peek b/c it's a surprise.

Thanks everyone!
The blue blanket on the crib was made by my mom... as was the yellow blanket on the glider. I love all the family made stuff!
Holy cow that woman has skills! I try to quilt, and I'm pretty decent at sewing, but could never in a lifetime of practice make something that gorgeous!
My mom has knitted a few blankies for baby boy, as she does for everyone in our family & circle of friends who has babies. I agree with PP, there is something so much more special about things made by loved ones. We have only bought one blanket so far for the nursery, more for looks than functionality. If we end up needing any more blanket (when they get destroyed or lost) my mom can whip one out in like an hour anyways
