leapfrog tablet vs leapster

Does anyone have this? Is it worth the price? We were going to get ds the leapster for christmas but now may get the tablet, but it is pricey and the apps are pricey.

    I am really interested to hear the responses on this. We also want to get DS the tablet but I really want to try one out. Has anyone seen them out at Toys R Us or anywhere? He loves our iPhones and using my dad's iPad.  I only want the Leapfrog tablet if it's similar.  I know it obviously won't be as good.

    I have heard the downsides are how quick it goes through batteries and the apps are $10 each. It looks cool though!

    We looked around at all the tablet options for M and decided on the Kindle Fire.  It functions more like the iPad than the leapfrog does but it's only $199 vs. $500 for the iPad.

    This is the question of the day.  I know so many people that are wondering about this, but not many have experience with either.  I am curious to see the replies on here.  I was leaning towards the leappad, bc H loves our iPhones and has mastered them.

    We are looking at handheld games too. I think I'm going with the Mobigo this year and maybe the leappad later.

    The leappad is on display at Target and TRU, we are getting one (already have an Explorer), and they can share games.
