Trouble TTC

I hate obgyn offices

So I go in to have all my blood work done that the ER will need. I am the only one in the waiting room and in walks this lady that is about 8 months pregnant. She signs in and sits in the chair right next to me. REALLY? Out of 20 chairs you feel the need to sit in the chair right next to mine? Then after that of course 5 other pregnant women walk in and the nurse helping me is pregnant. And to top it off they start talking about the nurses pregnancy during my vag ultrasound. So i chime in and ask how far along she is (when really I want to say shut up) and she was like "oh 7 months or so something like that I can't remember" You can't remember? Sorry ladies that is my vent for the morning.

Re: I hate obgyn offices

  • Oh I know.  My fertility clinic is a floor above an OB clinic, and there's a shared lab on the first floor.  From the second you walk in to the second you leave, there's nothing but pregnant women and women with babies.  It is a harsh reminder of why you are there.  Hopefully that will be us soon.

  • I feel the same way, and unfortunately for me I have to go to my regular OBGYN today for my annual exam.  Not looking forward to seeing all the pregnant patients in there.

GL! Here's hoping there are no pregnant women when you go in today.

  • I was so thrilled to move from an OBGYN to an RE. It crushed me every time I went into the OB's office and had to sit next to pregnant woman after pregnant woman. There's nothing worse than having a bad response to Clomid and having to sit next to someone 8 months pregnant and try not to cry. Sorry you had such a crummy start to your day.

  • I think it was very inappropriate for them to discuss the nurse's pregnancy during your pre-RE appointment. They probably didn't even realize what they were doing/why it wasn't a good idea. For that reason, I would say something to them so they can have more sensitivity towards other patients in the future. Sorry you had a bad experience!

Thanks! I am in the waiting room and so far not a baby bump is sight thankfully. I wish my RE's office would do paps.
