Christmas Gift Suggestions

Hi Preschool Board

I am hoping you might have some feedback on Christmas Gifts.  My sister has 4 kids aged 18 months, 3, 4, and 8.  I live on the other side of the country and would like to send gifts.  Shipping in Canada is really expensive and last year it ended up costing more than the gifts themselves.  I was hoping to get something small for the 18 mo old and one gift that the 3,4 and 8 year old could all enjoy to save on shipping.  Is this reasonable, any suggestions on an gift that might cover the 3 oldest boys.  I was thinking maybe a car set, or block set but any specific suggestions would be appreciated.  TIA

Re: Christmas Gift Suggestions

  • For the 18 mos old, try some soft tonka cars.  Can you buy through Amazon and avoid heavy shipping fees that way?  For the others, the only way I can think of to get something they would all enjoy would be either experience (movie passes, museum or zoo passes, etc.) or a movie DVD (Cars 2 for example).  I think the car set or block set would work for the 3 and 4 YOs but wouldn't know about the 8 YO.  I know my nephew is almost 5 and has some cars but is more into legos which have tiny pieces and aren't well suited to a 3YO or even 4YO.

  • I don't really have any gift suggestions, but I was going to second using Amazon and having the things shipped directly to your sister. You can usually get free super saver shipping. That will allow you to pick whatever gift(s) you want without having to worry about considering the shipping costs.
