2nd time mamas ? about contractions

I've had more than 5 an hour but nothing close to 5 minutes apart very random.  I've been having lower cramping, tightening and lower back aches since last night.  Cold water doesn't help or laying down.  I never went into labor on my own so I don't know what to expect at first, I just know what the hard labor contractions feel like.  I don't want to call, go in and then have to go back home.. DH would just kill me SmileShould they be taking my breath away before I call in?  I know I should know this but since I was induced for different reasons with both other boys I'm clueless.

    Okay, so I'm just totally lurking from August 2011 (see post below...lol) but this is EXACTLY how my labor started.  I never had any BH and was confused...I just thought my back was hurting because of pregnancy discomfort.  Turns out, LO was "sunnyside up" which explained the back pain...I never felt any contractions in front...only in my lower back!  So yeah, had no idea they were contractions until my water broke. It was funny, because DH and I kept wondering if this was really labor and whether or not we should call.  We had just decided to call the Dr when I stood up and gush!!!

    FWIW...my contractions didn't come 5 min apart until 2 hours after my water broke...which was 5 hours before baby came.

    I was in active labor and was 5 cm and had no clue! 2 nights before I had DS I had contractions that woke me up but nothing terrible.

    I would call your doctor just in case :).

    Thats what I was thinking.  When I was induced with both boys I didnt feel the wimpy contractions.  The nurse kept asking me pain levels and I would say 1 maybe 2.  She was really your not feeling any of those?  Nope not at all.  So I guess I should at least call and see what they have to say.

    I am wondering the same thing, since I had cramping last night and then contractions only about 10 minutes apart, but for a longish period of time and getting up, and going to the bathroom didn't help at all. I think they have mostly stopped now, but it was enough for me to put my hospital bag in the car before I went to work this morning...
