In TX (at least where we live), all schools are closed the entire week of Thanksgiving and there are tons of options for kids camps from Mon-Wed of next week. We'll be in CA and DH and I are going out of town for a few days, leaving the kids with my parents. I was hoping to find a camp to entertain them and give my parents a break, but I'm not finding a thing.
Which leaves me to wonder...are schools out there open next week? If so, that makes sense why I can't find a single camp for them.
Re: Are schools open next week Mon-Wed?
I think its area specific but becoming more common. In Davis, the public schools have had off the whole week as long as I've lived up here (since 2004) but Sac schools are open.
My mom teaches in the Evergreen district in San Jose and she has the whole week off, last year was the first time they had the week off. May take a few years for camps/etc to become common! Maybe the Discovery Museum in SJ? Or something at Happy Hollow?

The boys are out of school next week...aye yi yi...now I gotta get my act together and plan out my days so I don't go buggy by Monday night!
I'm off all week - yippeee! I work for the Folsom Cordova district. I deserve a week off after parent-conference week.
I love the idea of offering a camp for the week - so many of our kids end up bored at home. I haven't ever heard of any of my students going to one through. I wonder if it's not as common in my district? Hmm..
