Drama courtesy of the state of WI

Have you seen this article yet? I haven't visited the other boards, but I bet some of them are going to explode when it hits there

https://news.yahoo.com/milwaukee-runs-provocative-ads-wake-parents-dangers-co-213117311.html

ps - It's an anti-co-sleeping ad campaign by Milwaukee if you don't have time to read. They say some districts of Milwaukee have a higher infant mortality rate than 3rd world countries and believe that's partially due to co-sleeping. So they've made a provocative ad campaign to "combat" it.

  • Yep that makes me mad. I bed share and do it safely. I do it because my baby refuses to sleep in her crib and won't cry it out. We were told by the pedi to only let her cry for 10 minutes. My baby is still alive. I think its fear mongering. They should educate not scare the piss out of the moms.

  • I think that it is a little harsh and there may have been a less aggressive way than using a butcher knife, but I also think people need to eduacate themelves on safe cosleeping/bedsharing before they do it.  By doing it like this it will hopefully act as a wakeup call that this is not something to be taken lightly or done by anyone.

  • One, it irks me that people still don't know the difference between cosleeping and besharing. Two, unfortunately bedsharing get's thrown in the mix because if a child dies in an adult bed it's assumed it was simply because the child was there, they don't look at some of the causes like say fluffy sheets, that would be they same cause if the child was in his crib with the same type of fluffy sheet, bedsharing--not cosleeping like the add refers too, can be done safely, and cosleeping in even advised by the AAP!
