This is so not what I wanted to worry about today.
Backstory: The same girl at Ur ba n B e tt y cut my hair for 3-4 years, and moved away about six months ago. This girl was awesome. She recommended someone else at the salon, who I saw for the first time a couple months ago. I went in wanting a bob haircut (like I've had for about 18 months, but which grew out after DD was born), but the new lady talked me into this shaggy long layered cut. It was totally NMS, but I gave it a shot.
FF to today: I decided to give the new girl the benefit of the doubt, and went back a second time to stand my ground on getting the bob this time, and brought pictures of myself with the cut I wanted. She kept complaining about my hair being too clean, too healthy, and there bring too much hair for the cut to look good. All of which I know to be BS because I've had the effing cut before and loved it. For the rest if the appointment, she was accommodating on the surface, but it was clear that this was not the cut she wanted to do. Once I got to work, I took a closer look at the cut, and one side is longer than the other. As in, the right side touches my shoulder, the left side does not. As well as other issues.
Heres the question: should I make another appointment right away to get it fixed, and risk the fixed cut being a little shorter than I'd like, or give it a month or so to grow some before getting it fixed? I'm not too concerned with my hair looking like crap for a few extra weeks, since I've had that awful layered cut for two months (hello, ponytail!)

I would get it fixed right away. That way, the person fixing it can easily see the issues right away and not have to deal with slightly grown-out issues.
If you want to roll the dice on a different stylist at the same place, I'd recommend Ryan. A friend of mine has been seeing Veronica for a while, and I know she really likes her.

ditto the others. go back now, that way they can fix it and you won't be charged for the fix. if you wait a few weeks and then go back, they might not be as accommodating, saying that one side of your hair grows faster, etc.
and i wouldn't let the b!tchy girl fix it. ask for the manager to recommend someone else (or take the pp's advice and specifically ask for one of those girls).
Last time I had a haircut "fixed" i ended up with a cut that at first looked better but actually was ridiculously horrible and took a year to grow out ( i had a cowlick that literally stuck off the back of my head and a random layer on one side of my head that was way short). This was at Urban Betty and I was told if I saw a different stylist I would have to pay them but if I went back to the same stylist she would "fix it" for free. This stylist came highly recommended but gave me the most ridiculously horrible cut (and p.s. was also a bob). She's not there anymore, opened her own salon, so I know it's not the same person! Anyway, I didn't ask to speak to the manager, but that's probably what you need to do. The stylists there are independent so if she decided to comp you a new haircut with someone different, she'd just pay them, I'd assume. Good luck. I feel your pain!

I'd go back to the same person and give her a chance to fix the cut. If she botches it again, speak to the manager or owner. Every time I've gotten a cut fixed, the stylist is super attentive to doing a good job. Most of them want to keep a client. They need to make that right. I could not wait in your shoes because I would just look at the lopsided cut and get mad every time I looked in the mirror.

I had an awful haircut a few weeks ago, and I ended up going back and getting it "fixed." I was terrified that it was going to be even worse (my complaint was way too many layers that were WAY too short). But after talking to the manager, she convinced me to let someone else touch it up. And it did make me feel a tiny bit better after she touched it up, even though I still hate the cut. So I'd recommend letting the salon (not necessarily the same stylist) try to fix it.
I'm sorry you got a bad cut, and can totally feel your pain!
