Thanks for your response in my pet issue post about DH.  I really appreciate it and that was a great suggestion.  I have to talk to DH and MIL.  It is so hard when things affect health.  Nobody (well you would think nobody) likes to see their family suffer.

    Ya, you guys are in a tough situation.  If it was summer time, you could all eat outdoors over there pretty easily.  But in the cold with the windows closed....you are stuck.  I think overall too - the history of your husband always going over before is going to make stopping going over seem like this is all of a sudden to your mil, even though it is something he has dealt with for a long time.  Like she will expect him to put up with it bc he always has.  So it might take a hard stand and akward situation one year to make subsequent years better.  Hopefully as long as you make it clear you still want to see THEM and spend time with them at your place, they won't take it as personal.
