Birth Story with Newborn Pics

Well as u all know we are very busy with our new LO's. It has been a very rough last week with her, but we are all learning.

My birth did not go as planned. I was induced with Pitocin at 8pm, I started out dilated at a 2 and 70%. 12 hours later (8am) I only dilated to a 2.5-3cm. My plan was to try to go w/o pain meds, I made it through those 12 hours, but after no progress I decided I needed to sleep. Eventually I was feeling pressure and contractions again... I was "complete" at 3pm. It was time to push and my epidural was not working any longer, I told the nurse it was getting painful , but she said it was gonna be over soon and the OB would not want me to have more pain meds at this point. We did some practice pushes...2.5 hours later, I was writhing in pain,on oxygen, and I was becoming delirious and my family said I was hypoxic and sometimes confused or in a daze. The babies HR & mine would dropped during pushing. The OB come in finally and checks me and says I not complete yet and shouldnt be pushing. Are you freaking kidding me?!!! She gets the anesthesiologist in and he look at the IV pump and states that no one increased my Epidural dosage. So after a brief thought and my HB and family at my bedside my OB gives me the option to get more meds, wait and then continues to push or go for c-secion. I opted for c/s and I dont thin =k my family would have let me make any other decision at that point...they we all very scared we both were in danger. The anesthesiologist hooked me up with meds...I was numb up to my nipples! Yes...some relief!! I was so exhausted that when they were stitching me up I was falling asleep.

Reese Kay was born on Nov 1, 11 @1816 weighing 7lb 4oz. They estimated her weight 5-6 weeks prior to delivery at 7lbs 7oz. We all thought she was going to be a big baby. Here are some pics as well as some of our newborn shoot.

You look gorgeous, even in your first picture! Was there an option to get a stylist in the OR? I so missed that box on the check-in papers..wth? JK

You may have a more hellish delivery story than me which is an accomplishment--but isn't it amazing how worth they are? Your LO is adorable!

Thank you..lol. That is my MAC makeup at its finest! 26 hours of labor later!

I'd be so mad if they had me do practice pushes and find out I wasn't complete, that's crazy! Sorry it was such a rough time but you LO is so adorable. You have a beautiful family! Congratulations!
