50/50 holidays

If you split holidays 50/50 who gets to pick the first half/second half? IF EX is in town for Christmas day he gets 4.5 hours. It doesn't specify in our order.

  • Because I am a teacher - DD and I have two weeks off.  I am always giving XH the second week b/c that is usually when he has time off.  I'll always take the first week.  We split Christmas Eve and Christmas day every other year.
  • The way we have things worked out is like this:

BM: gets Christmas Eve and Christmas morning till mid afternoon (4or 5ish)

Us(BF and I): get thanksgiving day and Christmas day at 4 or 5ish

    Each year this switches off.

Last year we got Thanksgiving day and Christmas day at 5pm, this year we will not get SD on Thanksgiving but we will have her for Christmas eve and Christmas morning until 4 or 5ish.

We didn?t set a specific time for the exchange on Christmas day to be flexible for everyone and the different things each family will have going on each year. Last year BM asked if we could take SD a little earlier in the day due to things she had planned for the rest of the day.

Maybe it could be written in to your order that the you will switch off each year who gets the first half and second half of the day.

I hope this all made sense.

  • Christmas Eve is a big deal in their dad's family than mine so our agreement is that (if he was actually living near us) he would get them from the end of school at holiday break through Christmas Eve at 9pm and I would get them from that point until they go back to school after the new year.

  • He Emailed me earlier saying he wanted the afternoon, which actually works best for us. His visitation will start at 1:30 which of course is right in the middle of his naptime.. Should I put him down before and make sure he gets in a good nap (which might overlap time?), or make EX deal with nap time?  He'd probably be napping in the car if this happened

    :(
