Pregnant after a Loss

Need support & DH is gone :(

Today has been a down day.

My symptoms are virtually gone starting yesterday. I didn't ever have real hard core symptoms, but for the past 2 weeks, I have felt some type of light nausea each morning to mid afternoon ((until today & yesterday of course)). Last pregnancy, this also happened the week before we had the u/s that showed us no heartbeat.

My appointment is Thursday morning, DH is out of the country 'til next week, and I'm feeling so down. I am so scared history is about to repeat itself.

I've read 100 things that say symptoms come & go, and that they can start tapering off around this time, but it doesn't make me feel any better. I keep telling myself that 'there's nothing I can do, what will happen will happen", but it s*cks feeling this way. :

I guess just looking for some positive vibes/story/thoughts/opinions. Thanks girls!

  • My symptoms left around that time too and came back with a vengeance a couple weeks later!  T&Ps for your appt.  PGAL is hard, and some days are really rough.

  • I am so sorry you are having a rough time.

My symptoms (especially the nausea) started disappearing late in the 8th week - 9th week as well.  I was also freaked out, but so far so good :)

Those symptoms were replaced by fatigue at week 11 or so.

  • I'm so sorry you are having a rough time.  I'm sending lots of T&Ps that LO is thriving and your appointment on Thursday goes perfectly.  I can only imagine how hard it would be with your DH out of the country.

  • Okay, big hugs coming your way. I know it sucks being PgAL. My only symptoms with this pregnancy have been sore BB's and nightly potty breaks and those seemed to slack off around 8-9 weeks, which in turn caused a massive pessimistic freakout on my part. Since then, what little symptoms I have, have come and gone several times. FWIW, I had such bad cramping the first few weeks that I was convinced this wasn't going to end well and I'm just about halfway there with a healthy baby boy. It's hard to ignore past experience, but no/few symptoms doesn't always end badly. More big hugs to you!

Same.  I remember a few symptoms would come and go from 8wk on but  would come back.   Just when I though that my nausea was gone around 11.5/12 wk, it came back too til week 14.

  • Hang in there...I don't take too much stock in the symptoms as I had severe morning sickness up until the day I had my D&C...so to me, it isn't a real reliable measure... Stay strong, think positive...and I will be thinking about you and sending you strength!

  • I definitely have changing symptoms daily (some days I'm really green about a lot of things, some days I'm just plain hungry) and all is going great so far.  Try not to read too much into it, breathe deep until Thursday *HUGS*  Sorry your hubs is gone as well, it's always nice to have that support.

  • Positive vibes for you. I know hearing that symptoms come and go isn't helpful, because there are plenty of stories pointing in the other direction. I had pretty mild symptoms so far and I've also had a few day period where I've felt like 100%. Sucks to be PGAL, but relax your baby is still in there and growing everyday!

  • So sorry you're experiencing these difficult thoughts & feelings, especially while DH is gone.  It's so tough to be PgAL, and I've noticed that stress becomes even more high when an appointment is around the corner.

Sending you big hugs, and lots of T&Ps!

Thanks so much for all of yalls support!!! And good point here about putting stock in symptoms... I think it's so easy to do it because it's one of the ONLY indications that something's in there!! But i'll try not to think about it that way... key word: try

  • *hugs* it's always hard around this time. I had the same freak-out session a few more times but you are right - it's so normal for symptoms to taper off. *hugs*
  • I am sending you lots of T&Ps! The first trimester is so hard especially when you are PGAL. GL at your appointment on Thursday!
  • I had only mild first tri symptoms with this pregnancy.  It was terrifying because with my m/c, I lost my symptoms completely at 10w and that was all I could think about.  I think the lack of m/s was the hardest because it felt like everyone talks about it in first tri and I felt like there HAD to be something wrong with me for not having it.  But everything turned out fine.

It is normal to have almost no symptoms.  It is normal to have only a few or just mild symptoms.  It is normal for symptoms to disappear for a few days.  And it is normal to freak out about any/all of these situations.  Especially if your DH is usually comforting and he isn't around right now.

I hope your appt on Thursday goes amazingly and you can feel more confident.  Sending T&Ps.

  • I felt exactly the same way this past weekend.  I don't really have any symptoms except for my sore, tender, heavy boobs.  The soreness went away Saturday night into Sunday morning.  I panicked.  I kept thinking of things I did that could've possibly jeopardized this pregnancy.  I think it's just something that we as PGAL girls never stop thinking.

I found solace this morning when I found my little bean growing and fine.

Symptoms always give us reassurance, and believe me, we need it more than the average PG woman.

GL to you this Thursday.  I'm sure everything is fine!

  • Last week I went from having really bad m/s to the next day it being virtually gone and it has stayed this way. I was so scared and freaked out and sure that something was wrong. I had my u/s today and was positive that I was going to go in there and see that my baby had passed on. Thank God everything is fine and LO is doing great. It's insane how symptoms can just disappear like that. I'm sure everything is fine with you too. I hope the time goes by quickly until your appt.

  • Aw, hang in there! I'm sorry your DH is gone, that is hard.  I don't know if you remember my post yesterday, but I have had really mild symptoms as well and over the past few days I have felt really good (no sore BBs, no nausea, not very tired, really not much at all).  But yesterday, we saw the baby and it was measuring 8 weeks, so almost about the same as you!  It has a great hb, too and everything was fine. I was literally in tears knowing mine would go bad b/c of the no symptoms, but everything turned out ok.

Lots of good vibes coming for your appt on Thursday!

  • Hugs!

My symptoms totally disappeared a little after 8 weeks and I freaked out. I even went in for an ultrasound, and everything looked good!  It was definitely a "careful what you wish for" thing though, because the next week the symptoms were back, worse than ever, and they haven't let up since. Ugh.  Hopefully time flies and Thursday is here before you know it, and everything looks great!
