Fun Tues Poll: Holiday bucket list

I was browsing Pinterest last night and came across a pin titled, 'Holiday Bucket List'. On there was different things to do during the holiday season. I loosely did one last year, I wanted to make Thanksgiving dinner on my own. I accomplished that and the only thing I missed was the cranberry sauce that was left in the fridge. I also accomplished making my own dinner rolls. My mom used to make them every big holiday and shaped them into a Christmas tree at Xmas. I {semi} successfully made them. I say semi because a few in the middle were still a little on the undercooked side. ;) I'm hoping to add those back into the mix this year as well as some other things.

So what's on your bucket list this year?

Re: Fun Tues Poll: Holiday bucket list

  • Participate in a family Secret Santa/Kris Kringle

    Make my grandmother's cinnamon rolls from scratch

    Have a holiday cookie exchange

    Have the boys visit Santa (believe it or not, we have never ventured into this territory)

    Take the kids Xmas shopping and see what they buy for each other

    Watch It's a Wonderful Life, Elf, and White Christmas (again haven't seen these in their entirety or at all)

    {Ok gotta run...laundry and the kiddos are a-calling}

  • I love this!  I make a list every year and some are repeats that just haven't gotten accomplished in the last few years.  DS' first Christmas, I made him a felt stocking to match our's, but didn't have time to make us all matching Pjs (which I still haven't managed in the other two Christmases).  I make cookies every year, but last year's were not good as we missed one key ingredient (the flavoring!).  We've managed to have three great years of Santa visits, slippers under the tree, and Christmas cards mailed in time to arrive for Christmas (even if the photo was less than stellar).

    This year my list includes making cookie dough the day after Thanksgiving to bake in December, an advent calendar of holiday activities (go see the lights, go on the Holiday with Thomas train ride and visit Santa, get our tree, open a new Christmas book, etc.), and some homemade stuff for C and DH.  I'm crossing my fingers that I get it all done.

  • I want to have the willpower to NOT read my MIL's Christmas letter, because it just enrages me.  But you know I'll read it!

    I want to make some delicious sugar cookies, teach Alex some proper carols to sing with me at the piano, and also enjoy every single moment of the holiday season without gaining 10 pounds!!

    Fun poll.
