I'm so excited you guys! I have to share b/c what a difference a year makes!
Waaaay back last fall I started an exercise program and started running. I couldn't run the town lake 3 mi loop without stopping to walk at least once. I kept at it all year, even during the insanely hot 100 degree summer days (with an awesome friend/training partner).
On Sunday, my training partner & I ran a half marathon(!!) in SA and I beat my 2:00 hour goal time by a little over a minute! And I ran the first part of it pretty conservatively so I think I can go even faster. I just signed up for another half marathon at the end of January and am ready to train and improve on my time!
What big accomplishment (fitness or otherwise) have you made lately? AW here!
Re: AW (nbr). Join in!
Congratulations!! That is SO awesome and a huge accomplishment!
My AW is that I found out today I've lost 24 inches and 30 lbs over the past year and I was able to complete 3 sets of 5 unassisted chin-ups!
That's amazing!
I have no fitness achievements. But I had a call with my coach for work yesterday and she says I'm doing "phenomenal." Man that feels good! Love validation
Yall are all awesome!
I quit going to the gym in the summer when DH had back surgery bc he either tried to go with me or gave me guilt trips about how he couldn't go (yes, he's an addict). But I've been back at it for awhile and am starting to improve again.
I know I keep talking about this obsessively, but it's practically my whole world right now: I am almost wrapped up on completing 15 hours this semester, Jr and Sr level, on top of working 40-hr workweeks without flexibility or homework at work. My first two semesters were 9-hrs each, so I'm excited to be picking up the pace.
Next semester I'm only signed up for 6 hours, but I'm going to attempt to write work-credit portfolios on 24 hours. We'll see how that goes.
Yeah, me either. I'm just sitting around eating, trying to get fat and not throw up but these are awesome AW posts! I'm very impressed by you all!
Dude, you're making two babies right now. That's pretty impressive.
Ha. Thanks. Still can't quite believe it
