Thanksgiving ?

What do you put on your relish tray?  It seems to differ with what part of the country you are from and I want to mix it up a little this year.  I have new in-laws to impress!  :)

While we are on it, any good stuffing recipes out there?

I LOVE Pioneer Woman's stuffing recipe. I could eat it all year long.

:)  Maybe its a central/northern thing.  Its like an snack tray sort of.  My mom put baby gerkins, spicy dills, olives, pimento celery, and pickles okra on hers.

    This.

ETA: Ahhhhh. We usually just do pickles (dill & B&B), olives (both), and we also have a standard veggie tray - with different dips.

  • Dill pickles, sweet pickles (yuck!  but my ILs like them), green olives and a tomato or 2 for color.  Back before Kate was born and we had disposable income, I would buy lots of fancy olives too but no one ate them anyway.

Okay, yeah we break out the chips and salsa/guac if we get hungry. BUT we also eat on paper plates Surprise. We splurge and buy Chinet. Wink We're totally not formal dinner people.

ETA: If you're making the turkey, I just pinned the recipe i use for the brine and roasting and it's great.

Just another reason that I love you!!  Damn, no dishes on Thanksgiving??  Ummmm...  this could totally work for me!
  • My mom makes a few different types of dips (ranch, not sure about the others) and then we have broccoli, cucumbers, cauliflower, red/yellow/orange bell peppers, celery, mushrooms, and sugar snap peas...I'm planning to fill up on this stuff as much as possible this year! We also do a fruit tray and I think we're going to try that pumpkin dip that has been floating around on Pinterest for it.
  • For our relish tray....we do pickles (a couple different types), olives, jalapenos, pickled okra and those little corn things. :) I have a pretty relish tray I like to use. :)
  • pickled okra, olives, sweet pickles, carrots

... can't help with the relish tray. i don't particularly care for pickles or olives ;-) we snack on chex mix before the big meal!
