We have to get another carseat since DS2 is quickly growing out of his infant carrier type. I've never owned a Britax but hear great things.
I'm considering maybe the Marathon or Roundabout. There are some huge price differences between all of them really and wondered if anyone has researched them all or even tried different ones and what your experiences/thoughts were.
He's a whopper--- built like a linebacker so I need something with shoulder width.
Also--when did you move your LO in to the britax?
Re: Anyone have a Britax carseat?
We have the Marathon since the weight and height limits are higher than the Roundabout. We moved DD into the Britax when I could no longer lift her in her carrier anymore...around 5-6 months. (You can put them in it from birth though, I believe...no rules about that.)
DD is almost 4 and still in her Marathon. We love it.
My mom has a roundabout in her car, we have the Advocate in both of our cars. The Advocate is just like the Roundabout except there's extra side cushions on the outside of the chair. We borrowed the Roundabout for a cross-country plane flight and it fit fine on a Southwest aircraft.
This is my daughter in one of the Advocates, she's 36" (actually35 3/4" to be exact)
We just raised the height of the Advocate because the shoulder straps were starting to pull down on her shoulders.
I have Boulevards for DDs and I love them! I can't remember why I chose them, but they are fabulous--easy to install and seem quite comfortable. I got mine from albeebaby.com and they often have Britax seats on sale/clearance. I got mine for a great deal because I think it was an unpopular fabric or something.
My DDs were tiny (5lbs14oz and 4lbs12oz at birth) so I didn't move them to their Britax seats until they were maybe a year and 15 months because I kept them in their infant seats until they hit the height limit.

My SO has the Marathon in his car, I have an Evenflo that I got at BRU, not sure what model it is. He had his son in the Marathon from before 1.5, and he's a little bit larger than average size for his age and fits just fine in both of our carseats.
I do like the Marathon, but when we were shopping for a seat for my car, I couldn't see spending that much money on a seat that gets used maybe once or twice a week. So for us it didn't make sense to get another one. The only thing that I hate about the Marathon is that the pull to tighten the straps is very hard to pull and release on ours. I never feel like I can get the straps tight enough to be safe, and that scares me. I don't know if it's from the mechanism getting sticky/dirty, or just a bad design, but since it's not my carseat I don't care enough to look into it, lol.

Really? Something that can be a safety concern for a child, and you don't care enough to look into it?
Do you pull-pull-pull to tighten it? It was an adjustment for me to go to the Britax from the Graco Snugrides where you just do one long pull to tighten. The Britax functions more as a ratchet and you have to pull it repeatedly to tighten.

We have the marathon. I chose it because he'll be able to use it longer due to the higher weight limit. Also, because it came in nicer prints (lame, I know).
I switched him to this seat this past weekend - at 13 months. He still fit fine into his graco infant seat, but I just wanted to put him into a big boy seat.
Exactly this post except we have the Marathon and one car.
