I am 37 years old, TTC#2 for 1 1/2 years, finally reached IVF after 3 failed IUIs. My RE wants to transfer 3; my ER was yesterday, 18 eggs retrieved, 12 fertilized (5 natural, 7 via ICSI).
Anyone else undergoing IVF and transferring 3? Just wondering.....concerned about multiples, but I do trust my RE's opinion.
Re: 3 embryo transfer
DH and I were just discussing the same thing because my 3day ET is tomorrow (unless it gets pushed to 5day). I am 36 and have been TTC for over 2 years. This is my second IVF, the first one we transferred to grade A embryos and nothing. I think we decided, though, that we are not prepared to parent triplets so even if my RE says we can put back 3, we will stick with two. I thought that was the rule of thumb - you have to be ready for all to stick.
Good luck with your decision!
Hi ladies- I am having Re next week. I hope to make it that far, last month my IVF got convetred to my 7th failed IUI. I started Lurpon, the mixed lupron for the flare protocol on Weds night, and added menapour and gonal-f. I had Thursday and Friday full days of meds and then went in Sat. I had only 2 measurable follies. I am going back tomorrow...I am so happy to read you had so many follies. I would hope to put back three and understand they all may stick.
What were both of your protocols and when did you start to see so many follies? GOOD LUCK
thanks, Amy
Hi Montclair, I'm in Clifton. I wonder if we go to the same RE-RMA?
Below is the link to my previuos post with my history. If I had 3 to transfer, I would have after so many failed attempts. I only had 2 fertilize through ISCI, one was fragmented, so that decreases the chances. But wow, you sure had a great amount of fertilized! Lucky you can freeze some for future attempt. I never had enough to freeze.

I actually transferred four! And yes, I now have twins. At one point it was even triplets, but one was non-viable.
I have to be up front though, I was ok with the idea of a selective reduction. If you are not, then definitely don't transfer more embryos than you are comfortable with. I just didn't want to go through the whole IVF process more than once.
