Big Sister Present

We are planning on packing a big sister gift for our first born to open at the hospital when she comes to visit the baby. She will be 3 in December and we wanted her to feel special during this time when so much attention is focused on the new little one by everyone. Anyone else doing this? Any good ideas on what to give as a gift?

I want to do this for ds but not sure what to get. Maybe something for his train set or something of the sort. Something small that can easily be packed in my bag.

We are doing this for DS (he'll be 4 just a week later). We told him already DD is bringing a surprise for him and he is bringing a little surprise for her he picked out himself (it's a little stuffed giraffe). DS is getting 2 cars from the Cars 2 movie that he loves - Fin McMissle and Franchesco - to add to his collection. He'll be really excited and can play with them while he is visiting, plus they were just on sale at Toys R Us! : )

Oh, for a girl, I think I would get her a Babie or small girl toy, doll, or stuffed animal you can easily pack in your bag.

My good friend got her DS a DVD and a stuffed animal of one of the characters from the movie as a big brother present. She wrapped his present in a gift bag, which wasn't too much trouble to grab on the way out the door to the hospital.

I got DD#1 and DS Big Sister/ BIg Brother shirts to wear when they come to see their new baby sister in the hospital for the first time. I plan on getting them each a coloring book and some crayons to have while they visit so they don't get bored.

Our boys are older 7 & 9 and LO is giving them harry potter dvd's part 1 - part 8. I got an awesome deal on the set thru amazon.

We just got DD her own baby (a doll). She's already having a great time putting it in the baby swing, putting it down for a nap and so on. It's also a good way to practice how to treat a baby gently.

A friend of mine opted to have a bunch of little gifts for her son "from the baby" instead of one big one, which I thought was neat. In the first couple of weeks they'd hide little trinkets like dinosaurs and cars in the baby's blankets for him to "find".

We got a nice baby doll for our 2 year old, we took her out of the box and swaddled her and are bringing her in a gift bag from her new little sister. (for christmas we got her the really nice matching pram doll stroller). Also a Big Sister shirt, but I can't find them around town! Baby is seeming like they're gonna come early so I don't want to order online...
