We're having (another) round of layoffs today at my company. My department only has 12, and we are going to lose two (at least, that's what the rumor is).

Please send good thoughts that I keep my job, and thoughts and prayers for those who don't.

Blah.

Update: I still have a job. We lost a young girl who quit her job teaching two months ago to work for us, and an older woman with two kids in college. Suck.

That sucks. I've no doubt you're not going to be one of the ones, but it sucks for the others. I don't know you that well, but you're obviously a hard worker. And, let's face it, firing the hard-working woman who just returned from maternity leave? Forget about it.
