As you may remember, last Thursday I went to the PA at my OB b/c I was having some bleeding (I also had spotting at 9ish weeks and everything was fine) I had bled the day before and that morning when I woke up there was a considerable amount of blood (enough to fill up the toilet paper over about 4 wipes). I call the amount of blood I have been having "heavy spotting" - not a continuous flow, but definitely not just a spot or two.
I was seen that morning around 9ish. Baby had a HB in the 140s and PA did an internal exam. She said my cervix is still closed and she did not see very much blood. She labeled the pregnancy as a "threatened miscarriage" and told me it was 50/50 odds that I would have a healthy pregnancy. The only other thing she said was that this is "just one of those things. Some women have bleeding throughout their pregnancy and go on to have healthy babies and some do not". I was not given any other diagnoses. I was told that if I start filling up a pad in an hour, then I should call.
The bleeding/spotting continued throughout the weekend. Yesterday it was very minimal spotting, but last night, I began to feel sore in my abdomen. Sort of feels like I did 500 sit ups the day before. The soreness is still here today and this morning, when I had a BM, the toilet water was completely red and there was a lot of blood. Enough to wipe 5-6 tissues full. I am still spotting but not heavily. Definitely not filling up a pad, but something just does not seem right.
I have my regular OB appointment on Friday. I will be out of town (Houston) tomorrow. I don't want to be the paranoid pg woman that keeps making these emergency appointment only to be told that "it's just one of those things" an to wait and see and just call if I fill up the pad. But part of me just knows something is off here. WWYD? Call and demand to be seen again, or wait until Friday since likely there is nothing they could do anyway if there is a problem.
Re: Feeling Helpless. WWYD? Possible TMI and really long.
Call and demand to be seen.
If DH can't go with you please let me know and I will go with you.
This.
I would definitely call. Do you know if your Progesterone level was tested at your first appointment?
Good luck!
Not sure. They did take some blood at my 12 week appointment, but I was not given any information about it.
Thanks girls, I'm going in at 10:30.

Me too.
You need to be checked for a UTI/Kidney infection. It will require a catheter sample (or at least it should) because otherwise your vaginal bleeding will contaminate the specimen =(. It's is pretty much the only thing they can treat at 15 weeks that can impact the pregnancy. It can definitely explain the soreness.
If your doctor can't get you in, any ER can get a UA sent off, do an ultrasound and get you answers. Like I said, not much an really be done unless there are signs of infection but at least you'll know where you stand.
Bleeding in pregnancy tends to be a great mystery and "one of those things" indeed. Sucks not to know though.
I'm so sorry you're going through this. Lots of positive thoughts for a good outcome. Take care.
Re: "its just one of those things"-- first of all, this is a significant issue and shouldn't be treated any other way. Secondly, it kinda doesn't matter if it is or isn't a big deal- you are a pregnant woman that needs to know what's going on with your body, no matter how minor or not.
I'm glad they got you in! You can ask for a cath in office if you feel comfortable or follow the directions for a clean catch to the letter. You can help things along by drinking a lot of water now and arriving with a full bladder
