Best convertible carseat for a small back seat?

My H drives a truck.  While it has a double cab, it's a tight fit so I think a convertible made for a compact car would work best.  Ideas?  Thanks.

  • Combi Coccoro, I am not sure if it will get you to 2 years rear-facing though, especially if you have a big baby.

  • The Sunshine Radian is known for being very compact.  You can even fit three of them safely together in a Prius or other small economy car.

The Radian65 holds kids up to 65 lbs., the Radian80 holds
kids up to 80 lbs. while being just as narrow as the 65, and the
Radian XT, which is basically a Radian 80 with memory foam cushioning
    and head support.

All conveniently lack bulky armrests, but I personally recommend the Radian XT both because you can use it longer than the Radian65 (up to 80 lbs. vs. 65) and it
gives your kids a headrest that provides better side-impact protection and head support for when they fall asleep.

  • I have a pretty small backseat in my 2005 VW Jetta and I have a Graco MyRide 65 back there and it fits fine.  I was actually able to move the seat back a bit from having her Graco Snugride 35 back there before.  (Btw, it's on sale on Amazon for $130.)

We also go the First Years True Fit for DH's Ford F150 and I think it takes up even less space than the Graco MR65.
