I am 39 now and have been ttc for # for a year, DD #1 is 20mos, i had her naturally at 37, not understanding why it's taking so long with # 2 and losing hope but staying in the game.
just wondering about your ladies. am i crazy to want another one at this age?
Re: how old were you with #1 and are you having more?
I was 37 with DD, and be a month from 40 when I deliver this one, so I don't think you're crazy at all! Have you consulted your doc? Could be there's a simple explanation as to why you're not having success that they could help you with. In any case, good luck and I hope your dreams come true!
Oh - sorry, just saw your ticker - obviously you have sought assistance. I'm sorry you're having a hard time
I hope you get that + sign very soon!!

I was just a few days shy of 35 when we had DD#1 and just had DD#2 at 37. I want 1 more, but are waiting until DD#2 is 1 year old before we make that decision. Since they are 26 months apart, I would like #2 & #3 a little further apart(I have NO IDEA how people do 2 under 2!), so likely I would be 40 when we have #3! I'd have a 4th if I was younger!
So no, you are not crazy!

DD -- 5YO
DS -- 3YO
38 with dd1 and 39 with dd2
We would go again but can't really afford it, but I would love to "try for the boy".
I was 37 when I had my first
I was 39 when I had my second
Took about 6 months to conceive with each. Not crazy, IMO, to want another one.
37 when I had DS and I'll be a month shy of 40 when I deliver #2. I'm 99% sure this is our last one. We have family doing daycare and 3 might be pushing it. It took us a year to conceive this one so hang in there. And NO...you're not crazy! Just because we started late doesn't mean we don't still have the dreams of the family life with kids! Good luck!
I was six weeks shy of turning 40 when I had DD. We are one and done. Mainly because it took five years, lots of medical help and $22,000. Also, I am now 41 and don't personally want to be that "old" and pregnant. It was hard enough the first time around.
But, we are very happy with our one and feel like a complete family. DH always talked about two, but after going through all we had to the first time, he is happy with our one and only little girl. I was always happy with just one.
On the other hand, I don't think others are crazy for wanting more at this age. Whatever will make you happy and content as a family and is right for you is the way to go.

~All AL'ers welcome~
37 when we conceived, 38 when I delivered our LO. We'd like to have one more, TTC #2 spring-summer 2012.
I developed GIH at week 32 of my pregnancy (went on bedrest at week 34, water broke at 35 wks, 5 days) and we're hoping that's not an issue the 2nd time around.
I was 34 when I had DS. One and Done over here.
I know many people who have had children in their 40s. It's truly an individual choice. You're not crazy!
