Postpartum cycle?

Has anyone NOT had a first postpartum period yet? I mean...8 months postpartum and still NOTHING (not that I am complaining) but I had a fairly traumatic birth experience and the doc said I had an "uncooperative uterus" and I lost a good liter of blood in the process. I was wanting to be sure that nothing happened that is preventing me from "normalizing". I stopped nursing at 7 1/2 months. Still no sign of a period. Anyone else?

I mean, I can't speak on behalf of having a traumatic birth (as far as effects on the body), but it seems like actually the BFing has delayed it all this time. I was only able to BF for 4 weeks and ended up not getting my first period until about 9/10 weeks PP. So it's very possible you could still go another month or so!

I EBF and I just got my first cycle this week, at 8.5 months. I have friends who has gone up to a year with nothing and there wasn't any problem for them after that. Consider yourself lucky for as long as possible! This first one has been a b!tch!

I got mine at 6 months PP- about1.5 months after I went from EBF like 8 times a day to EP 4 times a day when I went back to work. It will probably take your body a month or two before it realizes you are no longer nursing to get your PP period again. If not call your ob- sometimes medication is needed.
