2nd Trimester

Trouble keeping your pants on... literally?

I am having such a hard time keeping these darn maternity jeans on! I am almost 18 weeks, and this is my 2nd child.... and I am definitley showing! But I can not keep my maternity pant/jeans on lately! Some are new maternity jeans, and some are old one's from my 1st pregnancy. I am constantly pulling my jeans up. It is so messy looking!

Is anyone else struggeling with this? What brands have you found that stay up the best?  I have resorted to doubling maternity jeans with a belly band over the top. But that is kind of a pain.

 Thanks ladies

  • I'm having the same issue.  My regular jeans don't fit and yet I'm not big enough for maternity.  So I walk around constantly pulling up my maternity jeans.  It's lovely.  If you figure something out, let me know!!  I actually told my husband I needed thigh high clips! (Clip the top of the pants to my bra hahaha)

  • I had to do the same thing with my Motherhood Maternity jeans.  I can now wear them without a bella band too, but towards the end of the day they start to get loose again.
  • If you put a Bella Band around the top of the maternity jeans then that seems to work (or atleast that is what my sister did). As far as them being saggy around the ass^^^ i have no idea

I bought a pair of Old Navy jeans and told my husband they actually felt like my regular jeans through the butt and thighs.  But yes, the others sag a lot.  I am just hoping that the further along I get the less they sag.

This is probably because a lot of woman gain weight in the bottom and thighs?

  • I am having the same problem.  I am wearing the same jeans that I wore just fine around week 15 with my last pregnancy.  They are nice ones from Pea in a Pod too!  The blue stretchy part is always showing and it is sooooo embarassing.

As far as saggy butt, every pair of maternity jeans I have ever owned have saggy butt by the end of the day.  I think they put extra elasticity in them to make you more comfortable and they end up being stretched out by the end of the day.

Maybe an actual potato sack would be more flattering.

  • I know it is kind of a pain but I have been wearing my bella band over my maternity jeans to keep them up. it is helping and I don't look so sloppy. This is my last pregnancy and I just can't bring myself to buy new maternity clothes for just a few months.

  • yes! 26 weeks and still have the same problem. I don't think it's bc I'm still too small- bc I'm not- I think it's a general thing with maternity jeans. I think after 8 pairs I am giving up.

  • I have found that old navy jeans work best for me. They have more sizes instead of S,M,L they have numerical sizes 6,8,10 etc. They also have petite and long lengths, which is nice for me cause I'm short so I can actually get pants that are not 4ins too long on me! My old navy maternity jeans fit nice through the butt and thighs and you really cant tell they are maternity jeans unless you see the top.

    Thanks again

  • Have you tried wearing a bella band over the panel?  I had this problem in my third trimester, and the band helped a bit.
  • I splurged on a pair of the "fashion" denim at Motherhood because they are the only jeans that FIT me the whole day. No bagging. No loseness. I literally feel fabulous in them. Yesterday I wore them from 8am to 9pm and they still felt great by the end of the day.

  • I've actually got one pair of pre-pregnancy jeans that still fit because they're stretchy and have 3 buttons in the fly instead of a zipper. I'm down to the last button though lol. I'm still way too small for maternity jeans... :/ I'm short so every pair I come across makes me feel all frumpy and ugly, and definitely has sag-butt :/

  • I have been in maternity jeans for 2 weeks now... and I am seriously showing (someone already asked me if I was 7 months or so).... REALLY? I'm not even FOUR! Anyway... I got my maternity jeans at Target - they're Liz Lange - and they fit great all day. I'm super happy with them.

Note: I bought them small. I usually wear a 5 or 6 and my maternity jeans are sizes 2 and 4 (the two styles fit a little differently).
