Every time I try to order something the items that are eligible for Prime shipping are far more expensive than the ones that aren't. Even for something as small as nail polish - OPI polishes that are Prime eligible are almost all more than $8, but without Prime they're closer to $5. I know that the $3 difference isn't coming close to covering the cost of 2 day shipping, but it's enough that I'll just wait and hope to find it at HEB instead.
I just paid for Prime after my Mom membership expired and now I'm getting aggravated. Am I the only one encountering this?
ETA - OxiClean Maxforce from the laundry thread: $9.29 for 1 bottle that's Prime Eligible, or $5.66 for 2 of the same bottles, ineligible. ![]()
Re: Amazon Prime getting crappy?
opi is 8 bucks a bottle at ulta, so it's not difference for me.
I haven't really noticed a price difference myself though.
And it's regular ground shipping now instead of 2 day! I guess the deals were just too good to last
I FIND THIS OUT THE DAY I SIGN UP FOR PRIME?!?! UGH.
Really though, I find myself too busy to shop lately and rely on Amazon. Either that or I'm just lazy with what little time I have free. DH pre-ordered the Kindle fire and watches a ton of streaming and reads a lot of books, so I figure if just for expedited shipping and the free stuff we'll make it worth our while. We'll see if we renew though.
We pay for prime and puffy heart it. I've seriously not had a problem with prime items being pricier than others.
I also prefer to order directly through amazon than the third parties. They don't honor prime and often charge a lot for shipping. Once you add up the time it takes, and the charge for shipping, the difference isn't much to _us_.
We look at it as less time in traffic (seriously out here it can take over an hour to drive 10 miles), less cost of gas (I pay over 4.20 a gallon) and less time just sitting around in a car or standing in a line.
Some stuff like our laundry detergent, I looking into subscribe and save, but they only had the smaller bottles and all in all was more than going to whole foods and picking it up. But that is few and far btwn.
