Question for those TTC #2 or #3

Hi ladies, today is CD1 of cycle #5 in our journey for DC #2. I'm totally bummed and feeling discouraged. With DS, I got pregnant NO problem - it actually shocked us because we weren't even TTC yet (was going to start temping the following month to see where I stood as I came off birth control for the past 10 years - we thought it would take 6 months to a year). This time around, it's not happening as easily. I am starting to temp tomorrow morning (should have done from the start and I'm now kicking myself in the butt) and I did use OPK's last cycle (got one "+" on CD 21 and had a 33 day cycle). So help ease my sadness - how long did it take you to conceive #2 or #3 compared to prior pregnancies? I know 5 months is not long at all in the TTC journey and I am totally happy knowing I can get PG in the first place so please don't flame me. Just curious to know your experience. Thanks!

PS - I only BF for 6 weeks and have had 29-31 day cycles for the past 7 months so my body has felt back to pre-pregnancy...

We are trying for #2 as well, and on cycle 7 now, so far nothing. Temping is a good place to start since you are wanting to get a better idea of your cycles. I know it can be frustrating but you are headed in the right direction!

DS1 was my first cycle

DS2 was a surprise. No AF between baby 1 and 2.

Starting for #3 this month. No AF yet though so I'm not sure how long. I'm hoping it will happen quickly, but I'm preparing for it to take awhile.

With DD I had an easy pregnancy. We got pregnant right away and had zero problems. Now that we are working on DC number 2, things have been more difficult. It took me two cycles to get pregnant after AF went missing for 60 some days. A month later I lost the pregnancy. So now I am onto cycle 4 because 3 was a bust.

DD#1 and #2 were surprises.

We are starting cycle #5 this week at some point- whenever AF shows...

OP, I feel the same way. We concieved #1 the first time trying. Just started cycle #6 for baby #2. In some ways, I feel like a TTC newb, because I was not prepared for the roller coaster of emotions. I try very hard to look at each CD1 as a little more time to savor my family just the way it is...but I'm human. Feel free to PM me if you ever need to vent! Good luck to you.

I got pregnant my second cycle with each of my two kids. I'm on cycle 2 ttc# 3 (with a new husband). We'll see if it happens cycle two again. Though, I would have to ovulate for that to happen and my ovaries are not cooperating!

I feel your pain. We got pregnant on our first try with DS. This time it's taking longer and my messed up, super long cycles just make me even more sad. I hope you get your BFP soon!

I am ttc#2 and am on cycle 3. It seems a lot longer to me since I have been having 40+ day cycles since having ds. It took me 6 years to get pg with ds.

We got pregnant in the first cycle with my son. We are now on cycle #3 for our second. I totally understand the newbie frustration if you've had a relatively easy time getting pregnant in the past. I just keep telling myself that it really does take up to a year for a healthy couple to conceive. Good luck!

Sounds like a lot of us are in the same boat. 1st preg, right away. We are on cycle 3 for #2. I agree with a pp that I wasn't really prepared for the emotions. I guess I should just feel lucky that I have my DS and it happened so quickly for him!

DD was a surprise while trying to avoid.

It took 11 cycles to get pregnant the 2nd time, miscarried.

and it is the 17th cycle since the m/c and nothing.

We're TTC #3 right now.

#1: 3 cycles

#2: 1 cycle

#3: 1 cycle {ended in m/c at 5 weeks}

We're now on cycle 2 post m/c though cycle 1 was really "off" and my body was still healing from what it went through, so although I'm sad that I didn't get PG right away, it's probably a good thing.

For DS--got pregnant 1st cycle trying

We have been TTC #2 for over a year now. I got pg on cycle #7 with Femara/IUI, but miscarried. Now on cycle #3 post-miscarriage. It's all come as a shock and been hard to deal with. I used to think we were a super-fertile couple. Now I just think we were incredibly lucky with DS.
