What am I forgetting?

Ok mommas. I am due on Friday and have been procrastinating about making sure I have everything I need. So today I am finally looking over his room to figure out what I am forgetting. What did you need when you got home from the hospital? The lil stuff, the big stuff, the stuff you would think everyone would know to have. It's been almost 6 years since I have had a newborn in my house and I KNOW I am forgetting something!!  Also what did you bring to hospital with you? I am totally stressing myself out because I keep thinking of stuff! Help!!

Re: What am I forgetting?

  • wow - it's amazing how quickly I've forgotten this stuff!

bottles + formula (in case you need to supplement or if you're going straight to formula), pacifiers (i had mam ones, but she gave herself a sore from sucking on them too hard, so we had to run out and get soothies), dipes, wipes, diaper cream, gas drops, baby nail clippers/file, swaddle blankets, nursing supplies (boppy, lanisoh, pads, tanks).

For realz. I would have some Vaseline on hand too. It worked well for us for diaper rash and skin irritation also will be needed if you're having a boy and get him snipped.
  • When one of my friend's had a baby last year, the girls here gave me this list:

    yoga pants

big granny panties in dark colors to hide stains

    overnight pads

    stool softeners

    tucks pads

    nursing bra

nipple donuts that you can put in the fridge

    magazines to read

    snacks

That's all I can think of for now! Good luck!

  • Pacis and wipes for the baby are the two main things. I delivered at Seton and they don't supply pacifiers. Everything for me I used was from the hospital except for ph's.

  • Lotion and chapstick for the hospital - it's so dry there. Also for yourself, comfy pants to come home in. I pretty much lived in the hospital gown while there, so never considered having comfy pants to come home in and was stuck with jeans - not so comfy after having a baby...
