3 yr old girl toy recs?

I'm trying to fill up DD's wish list for the holidays.  She is SET for clothes for a while after her recent birthday, so we're all about toys.  We're already doing an easel and accessories but I'd love to hear more suggestions.

She is into dress up stuff and puppets - any items that you guys know about that are reasonably priced (like under $50)?

TIA!

Re: 3 yr old girl toy recs?

  • ikea had some funny finger puppets for $5 when we were there last week. i grabbed some to use as a stocking stuffer. i think we're also going to ask for a microphone with a stand, as ruby is really into singing for us and i think she'll start "putting on shows" soon too.

her bday is next week and i know she's getting bigger lego-style blocks with people and animals that you can attach too, board games, and a few disney movies.

other stuff she likes right now- her cookbooks, gigi's ipad :), cd's for the car, puzzles, her dollhouse, and her balance bike. i would even check craigslist for a balance bike if you're wanting to stay around $50.

  • Costco has a trunk of princess dress up clothes and shoes for $30ish. They also have a Chicco balance bike for $28.99..I showed it to DD and she said its for boys (it's red) and she wanted the giant princess bike with training wheels that was next to it. :/
  • Target has various princess dress up costumes (and other non-princess ones too) starting at 19.99.  They also have wands, crowns and acessories.  Megan LOVES dress up!  Starting at three there are some cute arts and crafts kits you can get or just put something together yourself.  I love Lakeshore Learning, they're art sections is inspirational! Everytime I go, I see at least half a dozen things I want to get for the kids!!!  Megan also starting getting into playsets at 3, like Calico Critters, she got an iPlay rocket for Christmas, and she still loves her Little People.  There's also playmobile and dollhouses... we don't have those but I'm sure they would be liked!  And I'll third the balance bikes :-)
  • Thanks for all the recs - these are perfect.  I'll definitely pick up the finger puppets.  I so miss our Costco membership, but we're doing Sam's now and I will check them out this week to see if they have something similar.

    Thanks!
