    I haven't read the books, but it sounds VERY similar to Battle Royale, which I have seen. Am I correct?

    I'm a twi-hard and this movie looks much better made than the Twilight series. I really think these movies are going to be huge because the story will has a much wider appeal. Bigger than Twilight and close to Harry Potter. Not everyone likes the sparkly cheesy badly acted vampire movies like I do.

    It looks so good!  I don't much like Jennifer Lawrence, she's kinda blah looking, where I pictured Kat so much more pretty, but I'm sure she'll rock it.  And I am hating the dude playing Peeta.  He was so much more hot in my mind.  That guy is not hot.  WhoTF is he anyway?

    Yes, it's a similar premise. Also similar to the short story "The Lottery." But don't let that turn you off. It's an amazing story and meditation on tyranny, unconditional and conditional love, and the blurred lines between who we are vs. how others perceive us. It's so badass!!

    You're such a scholar, I would have said it has a lot of action but still a love story of sorts. Wink

    Ha! Some might say "windbag," but I'll take scholar! Apparently the author used to write for tv, which explains why the pacing is so good.
