gender at NT scan?

am i being ridiculous or is this possible?!?

my NT scan is thursday and i will be 11wks5days...is there any chance they will be able to tell? when did y'all find out?

thank you! maybe i'm impatient... i'm preparing myself for SCH being bigger and of course nervous about scan results...but i am so excited to see LO on the big screen :) 


ttc (on and off) since we were married in 2005
unexplained if
3/2011 injectibles with tic = bfp and twins!! edd december
lost both heartbeats and emergency d&c at 7 weeks
9/2011 letrozole,injectibles,and iui = BFP! edd june 2 - baby girl born at 32 weeks and 1 month in NICU...so happy to be healthy and home! 8/2012 whoa! surprise! baby boy due june 2...again!

    At 11w5d all babies genitals look the same.  There is some debate about the angle of the "nub" between the legs being more boy or girl angled, but that is about it.

    Some techs will give you a guess, but honestly, at that stage the genitalia have not differentiated enough for it to be anything more than that- a guess. Sometimes they end up being right, other times wrong- you basically can guess with the same amount of accuracy by flipping a coin. 

    My OB won't even hazard a guess until the a/s at 20w, because even at 15 or 16w they can be wrong (and even at 20w, but it's much less likely at that point).

    No.... at that stage gentilia is all external boy or girl.  You will not be able to tell.

    No sorry sweety it is just too soon.  Sometimes they will guess but it is only 50% right.  Which is the same as us guessing for you.  But het either way u get to see LO!!!  I hope he is squirming around it is fun to see them wiggle!

    I have my NT scan tonight! I think they can give you an idea but they are only 75% accurate because during the 11-12 weeks the baby's sex organs are still starting to develop!
    PS I'm nervous about my scan too I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers!!!

    That is too early.  Sure they could tell you, but I wouldn't put much stock in it that early on.  I found out at 20w2d and there was no doubt he was a boy.

    They can try the angle of the dangle, but it is only a guess at that point.  Usually 15 or 16 weeks would be more accurate.

    During my last pregnancy, the doctor guessed a girl at my NT scan.  Needless to say, I delivered a boy!  So....I would not even ask for a gender yet.  Save yourself the headache incase they are wrong!

     Our baby boy,Logan, was born still at 19w3d on 7/1/2011
    Our 2nd baby boy, Mason, was born still at 20w3d on 1/31/2012

     After a much needed sanity break... we are praying for our rainbows

    ((BFP 7/29/13))  ((EDD 4/12/14))  It's BOY/GIRL twins!!!
