Has anyone done this? Would you recommend it? I think there are a few offered. It just seems really expensive for a 1-2 hour ride. And I wonder if it would be better to wait until my youngest is a little older.
DH is going with our 4 year old in a couple weeks. The tix are $60 (adults) and $40 (kids). There were some slightly cheaper tix for lower levels, but it was sort of pointless to spend $10 less to sit in the lower level if we were spending that much anyway.
I told him I wanted to stay home with our 2 year old (she just turned 2). I don't want to deal with trying to get a 2 year old to sit still for an hour or two, and she won't fully understand it yet. I'm sure she'd have fun, but trekking up to the train station in the cold and dealing with late bedtimes is not something I am in the mood for this year.
Soo... next year I imagine we'll be saving $202 to take both girls.
It stinks because the Great Escape used to have Holiday in the Park, and that would have been awesome for both kids. That would have easily been a great alternative, but there's really not much to do in the winter.
Oh - and we just booked tickets last week - there were only tickets left on Mon, Tues, and Wed of some weeks!
if you go now your youngest would still be free. We did it last year (attica and arcade RR) and Eve loved it (she was like 22 months). i'd like to do it again this year if we can find the time and money.

wait. whaaat? $40 per ticket? no way we paid that much
arcade and attica is $14 pp.. 2 and under free.. so Eve is still free this year. We're going. )
i was just looking at the attica/arcade RR website and i'm confused- the North Pole Express trains are an outside event and they want you to dress for the weather but to wear your PJ's? so which is it?

Melissa - I was going to say, there are no free tix on our train.. "Babe in Arms" is like $12.. which isn't bad.. but you're still paying $60+ per adult so it's not cheap.

Both. Eve wore fleece christmas pjs last year but then when we got off the train she wore her coat and boots cuz you have to wait in a pretty long line outside to see santa.

I'm debating the Arcade/Attica one. I wanted to do the Medina Polar Express one, but it is a lot more $ (not quite as steep as Arctic's though, yikes!)

I only knew about Medina, and said no way to the price! R would love a train ride, maybe we will look into Arcade/Attica.
