I was just wondering if anyone else experienced the same pain I did because I have asked a couple people I know and they didn't and I am not sure what exactly it was that caused the pain.... anyway:
I had an epidural before (un-planned c-section) and was completely numb, especially after whatever they gave me for surgery. I didn't feel them cut me or anything. But then after they cut me they used some kind of tool, I think to hold open the hole, that dug into my pelvis (I can only assume this is what happened, since I couldn't see and could only feel and am only going by what my husband said). It felt like something pulling at the bone and digging into it and it hurt bad. I started saying "OW! That hurts!" and they kinda started rushing but kept saying that it was normal. I don't really remember feeling it after I heard my LO cry though. Could have been the emotions or they removed whatever was causing the pain.
Anyone else experience that?
Re: pain during surgery?
That's an odd thing to feel.
I was super numb and felt nothing but tingles.

Same here.
I didn't feel anything until after DS was out. I felt tons of tugging and pulling and, it was ok at first, but then as it continued (which felt like forever) I started crying. The anesthesiologist gave me 100mcg of IV Fentanyl which was amazing. I was drowsy, but I didn't feel anything after that and I still was able to see my baby. The next day the anesthesiologist told me that my spinal was placed a little lower than normal due to my "small laminar spaces" and that's why I was able to feel some of the pressure/pain of being sewed back up.
I had a very poorly placed epidural for my induction. I kept telling the nurses that I could feel all the contractions on the left side- they kept explaining it away saying it was pooling from how I was laying etc.
Fast forward to my C-section- they gave me a pretty big bump right as they were beginning so I didn't feel much initially, but as soon as they pulled her out I could feel EVERYTHING on the left side. I immediately started panicking and hyperventilating- they had to give me a local on that side to finish the surgery.
It was a nightmare.
