I just feel like it would be so helpful to congested babies if they can blow their noses! When can I expect this?

Re: At what age do they learn to blow their noses?
Who knows!? Jacob still doesn't understand. He'll wipe his nose with a tissue and make the blowing noise, but its from his mouth. Sigh.
PS - I have a cold and I have seriously blown my nose like eleventy billion times in front of him these past 2 weeks. So, its not monkey-see monkey-do.
LOL, not sure b/c I'm still waiting, if we ever get there I'll let you know. I also cannot seem to teach him to spit out the toothpaste or the water we rinse with after we brush.

I think DD started blowing her nose a little before 2. It is so amazingly wonderful to finally ditch the sucker, but sometime I am still anal and use it. I really feel it helps keep her colds from getting worse.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

DS started blowing his nose at about 18 months or so. But he's 3 now and refuses most days even though he knows how.
This DS#1 sometimes gets it but most of the time he is confused by the request to blow his nose.

We got her blowing at about 2.
We practiced when she wasn't sick, but lighting a candle, and having her blow it out with her nose alone, telling her to keep her mouth closed. Took a couple of tries but she figured it out.
We reinforced it with the blow bubbles using a straw in the nose trick too.
