All hooked up....

I felt a little better yesterday morning so I tried to lobby all of my family members and my BF that having a nurse come out was not necessary. They ALL shot me down so I went ahead with it. I have a reglan pump and and IV. I didn't realize how dehydrated i was. I had NO veins to get the IV in and I could not pee. I now have some color back in my face and I ate soup and 1/2 a sandwich. I have not been able to eat like that in about a week w/o immediately throwing up. As much as this totally SUCKS and is uncomfortable I feel SO MUCH better. I hope I don't have to keep this up for very long. I am also freaking out about having to change the pump site myself. If any of you are nurses and want to do this for me or give me tips that would be great. I might beg my OB's office to do it for me. I REALLY don't think I can do it myself. So that is what is going on. I hope this is short lived, but the plus side is that maybe I will be able to eat TG dinner. Thanks for all of your responses below. I hope no one else ever experiences this.

  • I'm so sorry you had to do this but glad it is working. Hopefully it'll be over soon!

  • Oh wow.  I would be freaking out to be hooked up to a pump like that and trapped in the house.  You have such a positive attitude.  If you need anything let me know!  Glad to hear you are feeling better.

Does this mean your family knows?  Are you officially out yet or just on here?

  • Wow, I am so sorry you got that sick!  I am glad you are feeling better are able to eat a little bit.  Hopefully you won't have to keep the pump for much longer, but that's great that it is making you feel better.

  • I'm so sorry.  Hopefully you will not have to stay this way long.  Can your husband maybe change the pump?  I agree I can never do anything on myself (I still like for him to take the band aid off if I have had a shot).  If not, I would totally just drop by the OB's office and ask one of their nurses to do it for you if feel like leaving the house.  I am glad its making you feel better.  I was on bedrest the last 3 weeks of my last pregnancy and it was torture.  You have to just keep reminding yourself that it will not last forever.
