nbr: pinkeye or not?

my eye has benn very red and hurting since tues.  i went to the doc on wed and she said its pinkeye and gave me vigamox....it was still the same.  So i went to the urgent care and she said that should have worked but gave me an ointment to try.  She said if i'm not feeling any relief by tomorrow morning to go to an opthalmologist.

Well i feel like its getting worse.   its very red, hurts like a b1tch, almost have like a really bad sinus headache, its very sensitive to the light, eyelid is swollen, blurred vision and it waters when i look at something too bright.  Any ideas what else it could be?  Wondering if i should go to the er or just wait till tomorrow to try and see another doc

  • I would try warm (wet with hot water) tea bags and let some tea drip in the eye. You can also try honey in warm water and drip some in the eye. (Both are home remedies you can do several times a day) and then I would go to the ophthalmologist tomorrow.

  • Aside from warm tea bags or a warm compress, if you breastfeed, you can put some breastmilk in your eyes..  Seriously :-)  I fit's not better by tomorrow, I would take it to the next step.  "pink eye" usually clears up rather fast.  I remember having it and I rinsed my eyes out with a sterile water solution from the store.
  • I had pink eye about a month ago. Actually both eyes got it. I don't remember the eye drops I got but it wasn't what you got because that is the stuff they prescribed for DS when he got it (he got it first). Everything you describe sounds like pink eye though. My eyes didn't clear up for a good 4 days.
