Kaiser Baldwin Park v. Kaiser Sunset (LA)

Any opinions about these two medical facilities? I live right in the middle of the two. It is usually faster to get to Baldwin Park because of traffic. However, I just heard that the Sunset facility is one of the top 100 hospitals that are "baby friendly". Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    i've never been to the one in sunset but i love the one in baldwin park. i haven't delivered there yet but it looks really nice and i love the doctors there

    Hi There

    I am a Doula that operates in the LA area and I have had only good experiences at Kaiser Sunset, it is well known among the birth community to offer some of the most natural-friendly care.

     

    The rooms are large and well equipped and extra touches like soft lighting and soothing music make it even more pleasant. The staff allow the natural birthing process to take place and are quite respectful of birth plans.

     

    Have you arranged for a hospital tour of either?

     

    Whatever the decision, I wish you the best birthing experience!

    I delivered at West LA so I can't give you feedback on the two you are considering but, they said in the baby care class I took at Kaiser that all So. Cal Kaisers follow baby friendly guidelines even if they aren't yet certified because they are trying to all get certified soon. West LA definitely followed it.

    I think Sunset has a better NICU so obviously if you go into preterm labor or have had complications that would be a factor.
