i miss sleep. like whoa.

anyone else having crazy trouble sleeping?? if it's not the heartburn, it's the leg cramps, or the nerves in my hips going numb from sleeping on my side, to the backache, to the constant pee trips...

and yes, i have a body pillow, but the dang thing is so gigantic it is ridiculous trying to fling it over when i switch sides, which is enough of a hassle!!!

if this is just preparation for how it's going to be once baby gets here...i'm in some trouble....

Re: i miss sleep. like whoa.

  • Your body is teaching you to survive on limited sleep and how to do it in very small chunks of time.  While you'll be more exhausted after baby gets here, when you do sleep you'll be a lot more comfortable, so it's a trade off, lol.

  • The body pillow is BS. That's everyone's recc and it didn't help me at all haha. I have all those same issues.

Honestly, even though i'll be waking every 2-3 hours when the baby is here, at least the sleep in between feeings should be more restful than this crap.

  • I don't have a body pillow, I just use a regular pillow behind my back when I need it, & a throw pillow in between my thighs for round ligament & hip pain! It's pretty easy to switch sides using those.

But I'm having trouble sleeping as well! Last night I woke up completely drenched in sweat, but I was freezing. I also woke up to pee about 10 times. I used to get really bad heartburn when I slept, too, but I added yet another pillow under my head & shoulders so it kind of elevates me a little more & I haven't had it at all since then.

  • The other night I was contemplating how helpful it would be if I could cut off one of my arms so that I was more comfortable not having to sleep on it. I cannot get comfortable either. Body pillow is indeed BS, and I HATE having to manuever it from side to side, trying to find enough room with two dogs on the bed and my husband. Some nights I just want to lock the door and sprawl out all by myself...but I would probably still be uncomfortable.

  • I have just about given up on sleeping in bed. cant sleep well with my head raised to prevent the heartburn, but fall asleep easy lounging on the couch.. trade off maybe?  Just a pillow between my legs seems to help the numbness factor.  I cut way back on fluids about an hour before bed and we keep the house temp just below 70 to midigate the sweats/freezes.

  • My hips get so numb and crampy with and without the dang body pillow. Every time I roll over (about every 2 hours) I wake up, readjust the pillow, hear DH snoring and can't fall back asleep. After all this I know I still won't be prepared for the total sleep depravation when LO gets here. I will take what I can get now!

  • I am SO with you on this one.  Body pillows are a joke, and between the pain and the needing to pee, (not to mention DH snoring) I don't remember the last time I slept a full night.  And of course, there is the mind wandering/ worrying about anything and everything.

  • Sleep for me has been HORRIBLE lately.  Three nights in a row last week I was wide awake for like 2 hours in the middle of the night.  I weny downstairs and watched TV and have fallen asleep on the couch at least twice.  I wake up to go pee and can't go back to sleep, as my baby is kicking away!  My mind gets to racing about work, and I'm just up.  Also, on the one night that I wasn't wide awake for 2 hours, I had such horrible BH's that i couldn't move my body off of its side.  It was like I was paralized for a minute, and it was very scary.  So, yea, I REALLY miss sleep.  Terribly.  And I am very aware that it is only going to get worse in the next few months.
  • As I am typing this I am falling asleep because I have been up since 2am. I wake up to go pee and cannot fall back asleep at all.

I have tried the body pillow and it does not work. Sleeping on the couch helps because it supports my back, but I have to physically get up to switch to my other side because of the pain from sleeping on one side for so long.

I just want one night of good uninterrupted sleep.
